My name is Carla de Souza Sena, I am a registered nurse in my home country of Brazil. I have great experience caring for people, both in Brazil and here in the United States. I’ve found my purpose lies in connecting with elderly people as they embrace their passions, overcome their challenges, and share their memories and wisdom. I lost my father when I was a child and in 2015 I lost one of my most beloved aunts. She had cancer, and I looked after her until her last breath. We had many long conversations and she told me many things on her bucket list that she would do after getting healthy again. Well, she passed, and I started to think about my own life. I’ve made a commitment to myself to live a full life and to encourage others to do the same. Time is a gift, it is our duty to choose how we are going to use it, whether creating a life of regret or a life of joy. Let death take us, not a lack of imagination.
